Join us for the next session in our Cultural Conversations for CHSP Providers series, designed to strengthen culturally responsive practice when supporting older people from multicultural communities.

For many older people from migrant and refugee backgrounds, mental health is shaped by a lifetime of experiences: migration and displacement, loss of identity and status, racism and discrimination, language barriers, shifting family dynamics,

and the challenges of ageing far from home. When mental health challenges present differently across cultures, or when someone has no language or framework for what they are experiencing, it can be difficult to recognise and even harder to respond to.

This session explores the intersection of cultural diversity and mental health, what gets missed and why, and how CHSP workers can respond with greater awareness and confidence.

This one-hour online Lunch & Learn is interactive, reflective, and suitable for anyone working within the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP).

Who should attend?
CHSP managers/coordinators, support workers, assessors, case managers, team leaders, community engagement staff, volunteers, and anyone supporting older people from multicultural communities.
