Supporting older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to access safe, respectful and responsive care

Did you know? Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in South Western Sydney have a younger age profile than non-Aboriginal people in the region.
How can services respond?
- engaging in meaningful community consultation to better understand the wider determinants affecting local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- identifying barriers to accessing services linked to the social determinants of health
- working with communities to address these barriers through flexible, affordable and culturally safe service models
- embedding co-design principles to ensure services are shaped by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices and experiences.
